My Journey of Change

This is my first in what will be a series of posts about my travel experiences, the experiences of my clients, and the places I can’t wait to discover in the future.

I am a mom with a passion for travel. I was born and raised in New England, currently living in Ohio, with a few international stops along the way. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. A few years ago my life abruptly changed when my husband asked for a divorce just before my youngest left for college. I found myself living alone and a little rudderless having spent years focused on the needs of my family. Instead of wallowing in the sadness of finding myself divorced and an empty-nester at the same time, I focused on me. That simple mindset shift allowed me to focus on my goals and priorities for the first time in a while.

That is where the travel advisor journey began for me. I find fulfillment in travel and in chatting with my friends I realized they do too. So why not turn my passion for my own travel, and my years of travel experience into a new career? If I can move two young children to India, get settled in new international schools, new international neighborhoods, and travel around Asia during our time there, I can help others navigate tricky travel situations and the struggles that always seem to pop up when far from home. A new me was born – instead of wife and mom I was now an entrepreneur.

What does that mean for me and for you? For me it means I have found a network of like minded individuals that have the same travel dreams and entrepreneurial ambitions as I do in the Fora Travel network. For you it means that this new network has answers to any travel related question you can imagine. Need to know how to navigate the visa system in Bali? Need to find a hotel at the last minute because a hurricane has delayed the start of your cruise, if I can’t immediately answer your question, there is someone in my network who can.

My philosophy is a belief that travel is more than just visiting new places. It’s about creating new memories, gaining new perspectives, and finding joy and purpose in the journey. I hope you’ll follow along as I recount my days of living in India with young children and studying abroad in Ireland and the Soviet Union (yes! I am that old). I hope to have lots of new travel experiences to share as well as those of my clients.
